Due to a fall and some broken bones, Joan Cain will not be able to join us in April while she is healing. In her place Maureen Laber from My Material Matters will be presenting “What is New in Quilting” and do a few demonstrations for us. Joan’s presentation on“Confessions of a Serial Quilt Killer: When Good Quilts Go Bad” will be rescheduled for March 13, 2019 at 1 pm.

Beth Ferrier Lecture and Trunk Show “Will You Make Me a Quilt?”. Quilter are a funny lot, with our special vocabulary and odd habits when it comes to buying fabric. Beth’s humorous look at what it means to be a quilter will have you in stitches.

Patricia Simmons from Quilter’s Rule International from Waterford, WI. Patricia is Vice-President of this family business and will have a slideshow presentation entitled “The Wonderful World of Quilter’s Rule” showing

products so we don’t have to travel to Waterford.

We are very pleased to have our friends and favorite quilt appraisers, Linda Honsberger and Jayne Steffens, return to share their historical textile knowledge. They are American Quilter’s Society Certified Quilt Appraisers and have appraised many beautiful quilts at our annual quilt show. They love to work together sharing their joy of heirloom quilts and assisting quilters with appraisals and quilt restoration. These two talented ladies from Racine will do a lecture/presentation on “Queen Victorian Blacks to the Bright Lights”. This wonderful and changing era in fabrics will be highlighted in their trunk show. Fortunately, this lecture from Linda and Jayne has been rescheduled for our September 12th meeting and both will be back to appraise quilts throughout our quilt show September 29th. Get your appointments as soon as possible
Back by popular request is our Guild Sharing and Teaching Round Robin of Local Talent to be held July 11th. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from our talented guild members. See one of the program committee members if you would like to share a technique, a new template, an up-cyled project, a new machine or something fun with our fellow guild members. More information will soon follow during regular meetings. Look for this picture and sign up at the table.

Potluck and Quilt Show Slide show. Hospitality Committees is Nimble Thimbles. The contact person is Terri Koch. Beverages will be provided by the hospitality committee. A-M should bring a main course and N-Z should bring salads and desserts.
Our October Potluck Social will feature Lil Rev (aka Marc Revenson) “Scraps of Quilting Music”. This is a “can’t miss” program. He presents a heartwarming one-man show born from a passion for all things timeless and rooted. This ode to the American quilting tradition celebrates the untold number of quilters who let their stitches tell their stories. Mickey Depre’s lecture/ trunk Show “Quilts – Young and Old, Timid and Bold”. An eclectic gathering of quilts from her studio. Some made by Mickey. Some Vintage. Some Traditional. Some Art. There will be something for everyone. Because after all, “There is enough fabric in the stash to make both art and traditional quilts”. Mickey will have items to sell along with her during our break.

Laura Krasinski from Menomonie Falls, will lecture about “Thread Sketching and Embellishing”. She will show us how to embellish our quilts with threads and beads as well as bring along some of her amazing
quilt works of art.
Christmas Social Hospitality Committee is Fabric Fanatics. The contact person is Ruth Madden. Each guild member is asked to bring 6 items of either a sweet or savory snack. A – L brings appetizers and M – Z brings cookies.
